You and your family members can shop at any Post Exchange (PX), Base Exchange (BX), and Class IV (Alcohol), or Commissary (grocery) store. You can even shop online!

Deferred Payment Plan
You can apply for this special credit service designed to help you buy merchandise from the PX or clothing sales. The program gives extended payment terms at a lower annual financing rate.

Space Available Flights
You can travel, at no charge, on a space available basis on military aircraft within the continental United States .

Retirement Benefits
You can, after 20 qualifying years of service, (at age 60) receive a monthly check, unlimited commissary and post exchange privileges, space available flights worldwide and free family medical care.

Survivor Benefit Plan
You can automatically be enrolled in the Survivor Benefit Plan of the Armed Forces when you begin receiving retired pay, thus guaranteeing your spouse up to 55% of your retired pay after your death.

Reemployment Rights
The Veterans Reemployment Right (VRR) Statute provides that a Guard member may not be denied hiring or retention in employment because of military obligation.

Veteran's Hiring Preference
You can receive ten points added to your State Civil Service appointment test, after you complete your initial enlistment. You can also receive preference for state and non-civil service public appointment.
